Kentucky Native Winter Kitchen Addition

This project expands the café kitchen at Kentucky Native by adding a sheltered indoor café area attached to Michler’s Florist greenhouse. The new space is designed to comfortably serve guests during rainy or cold weather.

I collaborated with Pranja (local design and construction partner) to develop construction drawings, manage permitting, and consult on the design for the Winter Café addition at Kentucky Native, located within Michler’s Florist. By repurposing and linking the existing greenhouse, the project extends the café’s kitchen to create a warm inviting indoor café space that attracts visitors even when the weather is less welcoming. Located at the heart of Lexington KY, the design includes an elevated loft ceiling and south-west elevation detailing, blending the functional needs of a café with the natural charm of floristry. The resulting space enhances customer experience and extends year-round usability for this local Lexington gem.
