This small farm winery blends Kentucky’s agricultural traditions with contemporary design, set on a working horse farm in Lexington. The adaptive reuse project transforms the barn structure into a winery and tasting space, featuring an open lofted interior with exposed framing and production areas designed for efficiency and flexibility.
The experience extends outdoors with a dock that reaches into the marsh wetland, creating a one-of-a-kind setting for tastings, events, and relaxation. Beyond the dock, an art park weaves into the wetland landscape, where sculptural forms rise from the grasses and invite exploration. This integration of architecture, agriculture, and art creates a memorable destination that celebrates the region’s natural beauty and cultural identity.
The design balances functionality for wine production with guest comfort, offering wide decks, open porches, and elevated gathering spaces overlooking the land. It establishes the winery as both a working farm operation and a community place where art, landscape, and hospitality meet.
