This project transforms a century-old flooring warehouse in Louisville’s Butchertown district into the Visual Scientist Office—a versatile creative hub for a web development team. The design reinterprets the original industrial character of the building, responding to its large, angled skylights by carrying those dramatic geometric lines into the interior layout. Angled walls define intimate meeting zones and private offices while preserving the volume and openness of the public workspace.
The architectural choices balance connectivity and focus: public areas feature long workbenches under natural light, while private rooms are tucked along the periphery for quiet collaboration. Modern finishes were layered over the raw shell—exposed structure, polished wood floors, and bold glass walls—creating a contemporary workspace grounded in history and light.
